JOHANNESBURG CANOE CLUB has taken to doing some rather funky Time Trials this year!
Club Captain Claire Zijlstra held a St.patricks Time Trial in March. All the paddlers had to wear green and those that opted stayed for a braai together afterwards to enjoy the Spirit of St.Patricks Day.
April Time Trial was an Easter Marathon Time Trial which involved all the paddlers taking part, geting a fresh raw egg at the start, proceeding to do four laps around wemmer pan with a portage and do their best to avoid any cracking or breaking of their eggs. Each paddler had to present their egg after getting back on the water from their portage before they could continue the next lap and to avoid any penalties. This was quite a fun spirited paddle and was Eggciting for the little development guys to take part in as well.
Next Time Trial in May will be just as fun!
