RACE CALENDAR UPDATE – MARCH TO NOVEMBER 2022

Gauteng Canoe Union race schedule for the rest of 2022

  1. Confirmation of the GCU Marathon Series – The overall consensus was that the series did show potential last season and the participating clubs would be prepared to host events this season leading up to GCU Marathon Champs at the end of May and SA Marathon Champs mid June. The agreed events and dates are as follows:
    1. Event 1 @ JCC – Sunday 24th April – Peter Rossouw
    2. Event 2 @ FLCC – Sunday 8th May – Bertie Baard
    3. Event 3 @ ERK – Sunday 15th May – Richard Tandy
    4. TBC Event 4 @ Dabs – Sunday 22nd May – MJ Robb
    5. GCU Marathon Champs @VLC –  28/29 May – Wayne Saunders/GCU
    6. SA Marathon Champs @ Hazelmere Dam KZN – CSA/KZNCU 16 / 18 June 2022
  2. Other Calendar Date Confirmations
    1. Liebensbergvlei 2 Day event – 17th 18th September, organising club Dabs/GCU
    2. ERK Night Race – Friday 9th September, organising club ERK, contact person Richard Tandy
    3. Bernie Krone Vaal – 26th 27th November, organising club JCC, contact person Mike Roy
  3. Provisional dates set aside but yet to be confirmed by the respective club/race organiser
    1. 9 Miler @  CCC Saturday 23rd July – CCC to confirm
    2. Watuni Klip, Saturday 13th August – WCC to confirm
    3. FLCC Klip, Sunday 21st August – FLCC to confirm
