Morning All
I would just like to thank all who supported The Euro Steel Highveld Croc
this weekend and especially those that helped marshal over the two days. We
had great water and a good turn out. Thanks also to all the out of province
paddlers that made the effort, KZN, WP and EC. Special thanks must go to the
following people:
COLIN WILSON- EURO STEEL.. Colin has sponsored this race now for 3 years and
without his cash input we would not attract all the top Dusi paddlers. We
had two previous Dusi winner(Birkett and Kime) plus a whole host of top ten
Dusi competitors. Thanks again Colin.
DOUG JEWSON – BRIGHTSTAR ..Every year since this races inception(5 Years),
Doug has supplied give-aways plus has put up various electronic devices,
that we could raffle, with the funds going towards cash prizes. Doug is
always first help out on the river as well, when we need to liaise with
landowners, and without his good standing with most landowners we would not
be able to race on this river system.Doug also secured us the Heron Bridge
School premises, for us to start the race at this Year. This was a fantastic
start venue with all the facilities that you need for a top class starting
Venue. Legend!!
JANE SWARBRECK – To Jane and her Parents for allowing us to portage through
their Farm at Lanseria. They had paths cut for about 1km on the farm so that
the runners could have easy access to the river. This has been a great help.
PATRICK WALDEN – LUCOZADE Energy Drink… who came to the party at the 11th
hour with your great product. We had Lucozade at the top of Mt Everest(2nd
Portage) and at the finish of the race. The product when down very well and
I really appreciate your last minute effort?
This race has grown from about 35 entries, five years ago to 125 entries
this year. I hope it will continue growing from year to year.
