It will no longer be the long flat slog, as we have changed the start and finish venues. Day 1 will run from Barrage to Smilin Thru Resort (37km) and Day 2 will run from Smilin Thru Resort to Hadeda Creek Adventures (29km).
This means there is a new overnight stop, and the people at Smilin Thru are organising some live entertainment for the paddlers and their seconds/families as well as a flea market. They are also giving a 40% Discount on accommodation on condition you buy a meal voucher for the evening, so get in contact with them: www.smilinthru.co.za/
We are also looking at hosting a guppy race at Likkewaan Canoe Club on the Saturday afternoon, this also gives everyone to go and have a look at the portages the will be facing on Day 2.
Day 2 is the new section that will be paddled and it has a lot of exciting rapids and channels, not the old boring flat slog that it used to be. Day 2 is also a single day event for those that do not want to take on both days of the event (Short course).
The first 100 entries receive a goody bag, so don’t wait to enter.
