Gauteng Canoe Union has tragically lost a paddler at the Fish River Canoe Race which took place Friday and Saturday in Cradock.
We extend our sincere sympathies and condolences from the entire Gauteng Canoeing family – to Axel’s family and all friends / paddlers who knew Axel Marggraf, a Pretoria based experienced white water paddler.
Investigations/postmortem is being conducted and we hope this will assist with providing answers to this terrible tragedy.
Our sincere condolences and sympathies extended also to KZN paddler, Dean Chiazarri who sadly passed away from a heart attack during the event.
