Attached is the CSA Calendar – showing the river races that can be used for A Grade qualifyers are listed / identified by John Oliver.
The races hosted by Gauteng have been highlighted in PINK for easy recognition – Tugela race is approx 4 hours travel from JHB so the 3 points available there are also manageable.
6 races (or 4 with 2 official/informal river trips arranged with Safety Officers ) are required for A Grade qualification in order to enter the Fish River race in October which is quite challenging for new paddlers without experienced partners!
Those short on races / points should contact their club safety officers to identify suitable trips available to make up the points (or contact me details below to join one of our regular river trips).
