CHARITY BATCH BIDDING EXTENDED TO 6pm WEDNESDAY 10th Feb
DUSI OPEN DAY
On Sunday 14th Feb between 5am and 1pm, the private farms from below Low Level Bridge to Geoff’s Road on the far side of Guinea Fowl portage are open for tripping.
No cars on the route, please all park at Bishopstowe hall and trip the conventional portages on foot only.
Please respect the farmers property – land, animals, gates, fences etc. Do no damage and leave no litter.
DAY 1 BATCHES
Batches for all confirmed entries as at 5pm on Monday 8th Feb are attached. Please check your 20 year and 25 year status. Your number of Dusis completed are shown in the batch file.
Please remember that the first K1s, other than 20 or 25 year entries, only start from K Batch. All the Mixed Doubles and Womens boats from lower batches are in J Batch.
Boats with no members having completed a seeding race are batched in terms of their normal CSA ladder rankings in M and N Batch.
There will be changes and additions in the lead-up to registration day.
REGISTRATION DAY BOAT SCRUTINEERING, MEDIA AND RULES MEETINGS FOR A BATCH AND SEEDED WOMEN AND TOP 5 JUNIORS
BOAT SCRUTINEERING (New)
ALL paddlers and their equipment in A Batch and the Ladies Batch MUST BE PRESENTED for scrutineering between 9.00am and 4.00pm on Wednesday 17th February.
ALL boats will be checked for correct branding and buoyancy. The weight will be recorded, but will not constitute the final weight of the boat. Boats will be weighed at the end of each stage.
ALL Paddlers lifejackets and paddles must also be presented. These will be checked for correct branding.
Any paddler or boat NOT signed off by the weigh master will be given an automatic 2 minute penalty, which may be repeated on successive days if the branding is not in accordance with the rules.
RULES MEETING
A Race Rules meeting will be held from 10.00am on the 17th February at NCC.
All paddlers seeded in A Batch on Day 1, the top 10 seeded women’s boats and top 5 seeded junior (boys and girls), are required to attend.
Paddlers who are unable to attend this meeting must provide written notice of their unavailability to info@dusi.co.za before 4.00pm on the day before registration.
Non-attendance, for any reason whatsoever, of this meeting will not constitute an excuse in the case of disciplinary action during the course of the event.
MEDIA BRIEFING
A media briefing will be held on the day of registration.
All paddlers seeded in the first two rows on Day 1, the top 10 seeded women’s boats and top 5 seeded junior and development boats, are required to attend the media briefing.
Non-attendance of the media briefing may result in disciplinary action in accordance with the rules of the event.
Paddlers who are unable to attend this briefing must provide written notice of their unavailability to info@dusi.co.za before 4.00pm on the day before registration.
