VLC CAKE RACE –   3rd June AT 13H00
After the disappointment of having to cancel Race 1, (unsafe weather conditions – see option below), the weather predictions for Saturdays race are looking good. Just a reminder this race will also serve as GCU K1 trials as well.

However the spirit of this series which is also to provide novices the opportunity to get river experience remains and the prizes for the day remain cakes, however we have some exciting lucky draw prizes that will be drawn at the end of the last race of the series:

• First boat home (any class)
• First K2 with a novice (Definition of Novice in this case is someone who is paddling in their first racing season.)

* No paddler will be allowed to race on the day if they are not registered with GCU AND must have completed their proficiency tests.
* New members must register in order to get a CSA number before any race
* PFD’s and Buoyancy checks will be conducted beforehand and if not sufficient you will not be allowed to race
