Brian Longley (Big B) sadly passed away last Friday. We send our condolences to Maria, Nic, JJ, Storm and their extended Family. Big B’s passing leaves a great void in the communities that he touched.
Big B was a founder member of Dabulamanzi Canoe Club 41 years ago, one of the Clubs first Chairmen and was Chairman of the Gauteng Canoe Union (GCU).
Big B was a giant in stature and in what he brought to Dabs, SA and International paddling. He won honours in every age category that he competed in. Big B was the ultimate focused competitor in every aspect of life.
Big B we are going to miss you.
*Big B Time Trial. Thursday 30th January 2020 at 17.45 at Dabulamanzi Canoe
Club.*
Maria, Nic, JJ and the Family will be with us to give Big B the send-off that he deserves. Nic and JJ will lead the Big B Time Trial with a Lap of Honour, after that, in true Big B tradition it will be every man for himself, there will be no giving way at any of the buoys, if you get bumped you will ensure that that the culprit is aware of their infringement, no matter what you will complete 10 laps and join us for a beer or two afterwards. (There will be no 10 in1)
Dress for the Big B TT. Your Dabs Paddling shorts, Dabs Paddling Top/T-Shirt. The older the better.
