A reminder of a couple of administrative reminders:

Please note that it is the club’s responsibility to ensure that ALL school league paddlers participating at their clubs DO sign indemnity forms and that the school league races offered to the CLUBS are with the understanding that the clubs have the necessary indemnity on record – the school league race organisers are not responsible for maintaining the necessary indemnity. All new paddlers to Schools League need to be entered for their first race by the club to ensure the necessary indemnities are filled in and flat water proficiency has been met.

We encourage pre-entries for all races and emails are sent out with the deadline for these. Should you not be receiving these, please let me know on stdavidscanoeing@gmail.com so I can check your details. As noted blow, there is a penalty fee issued to clubs for late entries.

–          No schools league paddlers may paddle a race without a coloured bib and number slide (allocated at registration)and all boats need number slide holders

–          All schools league paddlers have to paddle with a correctly fitted life jacket

–          Sprint events: paddlers are required to complete all the distances of the day in order to receive points for the event

–          ONLY guppies are recognised in Under 12 age groups – K1’sracing in guppy category will be disqualified or have a time penalty.  Under 12’s who prefer to race in K1 rather than guppy, must enter the Under 14 age category.

–          Please note that paddlers need to take part in a minimum of half the Schools League events in a year from January to November to be eligible for a age group prize at the year end prize giving

“Wherever there is a channel of water, there is a road for a canoe”
